Having dedicated the first 12 years of his professional career to academic research into skin biology, Steve has built an internationally respected profile. This has been followed by the last 16 years working with us as our skin expert. His expertise covers men and mother & baby too. He also researches how products interact with skin and trains our in-store skincare advisors. Liaising with leading dermatologists as well as industry bodies throughout the world, he is continually updating his specialist knowledge.
Steve is our resident skin expert, the brains behind the development of all our major skincare brands. He’s the guy we turn to for the very latest in skin science to guide the dedicated teams to produce innovative technologies and formulations as well as continually updating the thinking behind our product testing to reflect current understanding of the skin. In addition, Steve also gets involved in training our in-store Skincare Advisors.
The biology of our skin is complex and, as it’s our first defence against the outside world, a lot can happen to it. So it’s good news that Steve is internationally respected and really knows how to look after our largest organ. It’s this expertise that has informed his work with us for the last 16 years and contributed to his breadth of knowledge of how products interact with the skin and how we can use these interactions to deliver better products and more satisfied customers.
Steve is the technical architect behind all our new Expert skincare ranges, bringing together a lifetime’s professional knowledge in products to meet the specialist needs of sensitive, dry and maternity skin. Highly respected both within Boots and outside in the larger market, he is actively involved in industry bodies where he liaises with other leading dermatologists and their organisations.
