Meet our men expert

Men may be strong and silent but they have a sensitive side, too, and this includes their skin! With the help of our skincare expert, Steve Barton, we’ve produced a definitive range of products that get the job done gently, whether cleansing, hydrating, scrubbing or shaving.

Shaving Regime

When I was training our skincare advisers last month I told them if they wanted to make an instantly noticeable difference to a man's wet shave recommend Boots Mens Expert Facial Scrub. Exfoliating the skin helps clear blocked pores, removes dead skin and provides a much smoother surface for the blade to glide over. Exfoliating can make a real difference to the amount of razor bumps and ingrown hairs you get, reducing the redness and irritation that comes with them. For men who are more prone to razor bumps they should try a Razor Bump Splash. These contains ingredients to help calm the skin whilst at the same time cleansing and improving it's condition for the next time you shave.

Shave oils are not water soluble and you can find they are not so good at wetting the beard and softening it. Make sure you a good facial wash in hot water first to assist with softening the beard.. (2) Comments
