Which is better Aerosol, Stick or Roll-ons?
Posted on 27th April at 01:55 PM Posted by: Crian Wilson
On paper you can make better performing roll-on and stick than you can an aerosol. This is because the best performing active ingredients are not suitable for use in aerosols. The trick of the formulator though, is to optimise the performance of each product type. Once you’ve done this the true proof of performance is in what customers think. 300 Boots customers trialled our expert range and we found they all performed equally well. Personally I like to use a roll-on but the majority of people (over 60%) prefer to use aerosols.
Best Man - best antiperspirant?
Posted on 03rd May at 05:16 PM Posted by: Gary Antony
Hi, I’m best man for my friends wedding in July and the thought of it alone makes me sweat buckets. I can actually feel sweat trickle down the inside of my arm just from the thought of it. I also work in quite a stressful job that puts me in some uncomfortable meetings with customers most days. Please can you tell me what is the absolute best deodorant / antiperspirant that money can buy for these situations?

Please can you tell me if there are there any more natural anti-perspirants than the aerosol, roll-on or stick that simply clog up the sweat ducts?

Is it true that there has been a link between the use of anti-perspirants and breast cancer? Is it better to just stick to a deodorant and not mess with our swet glands?

I tend to have a few problems, tried this, and now I can have an embarrassment free day. Lots better than ‘leading’ deodorants.

Very, very sensitive skin + deodorants

My Husband has Parkinson’s Disease which seems to have sensitised his skin. We cannot find an underarm deodorant to suit him. Everything he tries makes his underarm area hot, red, itchy and sore. Any bright ideas? He sweats quite a lot and has to wash several times a day to keep the odour to a minimum. As his mobility and manual dexterity is affected by the PD this is not easy!

long term health effect of actice ingredients in anti perspirants
Posted on 03rd May at 10:52 AM Posted by: Sara Badger
I am concerned that the main active ingredient in anti perspirants, that act on the sweat ducts, is aluminium, which is linked to alzheimer’s disease. I have changed all my cooking utensils to steel for this reason and use natural deodorisers. How can I be sure that Boots monitors the active ingredients on long term health and what assurance do I hace that they will not increase the risks of Alzheimers or cause other damage? What effective and safe alternatives does Boots offer?
