Why do we need heat protection in haircare products?

The hair on our heads is many peoples ‘crowning glory’. If you have hair that is medium length (e.g. a bob) or shoulder length, then your hair has been growing for between 1 and 2 years. Just think how many times you have used your straighteners, hairdrier or other heated styling appliance over the last 2 years. If you wash and heat style your hair daily, or twice a week, then that could mean between 100 and 600 times! From this it is clear that we need to protect our hair from heat, as you could be faced with living with the damage for over a year.

I have been using the Expert Dry Scalp pre-treatment and the Dry Scalp shampoo - I saw them whilst waiting for a prescription at the local chemist. I have suffered from an itchy, flakey scalp for years and nothing seemed to work.

My hair was lank as a result of it ... NOT SINCE USING THESE PRODUCTS!! I am over the moon, my scalp is much better, but best of all my hair is fuller and has more life than I have seen for over 20 years! It also seems less greasy, another bonus!

I normally buy expensive shampoos etc. and am never that impressed. I recently had a baby and my hair is starting fall out in clumps! And the condition wasn’t great. I bought the post pregnancy shampoo and conditioner not expecting much as I’m very fussy with my hair! Its brilliant. My hair feels so clean and is so shiny. I’ll definately buy it again.

I have recently used your dry scalp treatment trio i.e. pre treatment...shampoo...conditioner. I would just like to say that it’s fantastic. I had been suffering from a very itchy scalp and had large flakes and what looked like burns across the hairline, my hair would also get very greasy, I would wash it one day and the next it would greasy again. I read about the dry scalp treatment on your website and decided to try it. After only one use of the trio my head stopped itching the large flakes have disappeared and my hair has not become greasy. I have just used it again and will continue to do so, my hair feels so clean ( squeaky clean in fact ) and as an added plus the treatment smells great too, I had expected it to smell like carbolic when in fact it has a lovely perfume.

So a big thanks to all you experts you are all wonderful.

Wow what excellent products!!

For years I have suffered with dandruff and a very itchy scalp which doctors haven’t successfully treated and I’ve not managed to control that well. Also anti-dandruff products can make my hair worse as I’ve got naturally curly hair which I try to straighten so it frizz’s at the slightest rain and so I have to balance between anti-dandruff shampoos and tresemme.

I thought I would give the above a try as they were very affordable and Boots is a recognised brand.

After the first time of using the pre-shampoo treatment and shampoo I noticed such a big difference - I have minimal dandruff and my scalp doesn’t itch. Also my hair isn’t frizzy - I’ve managed to straighten it with excellent results and it looks healthy and shinny. I’m now getting comments from my partner (miracle in itself!) and friends.

Thank you for such wonderful products - I’m now going to purchase the conditioner in order to complete the package - what a bonus that they are on 3 for 2!!!
