This short video presents a reporter at Boots Headquarters visiting the Experts behind the launch of the Boots Expert product range. The following is a transcript of the dialogue between the reporter and the two Boots experts.
Reporter says:With over 100 products in the range, covering everything from removing unwanted hair to cream for sensitive eyes; this is a pretty huge moment for Boots. I'm here to meet a couple of Boots' expert advisors and find out how it all came about.
Reporter says to Expert, Steve Barton:Steve, how did such a big project start?
Steve says:By talking to our customers, and listening to the daily problems they faced. The sorts of things they wouldn't go to their GP for, but that really did affect their daily lives.
Reporter says:So, an itch or a blemish?
Steve says:Exactly those sorts of things. But also how these problems made people feel, how self- conscious they were. One person said to us "If I have dry hands, and I would cover them up with a long sleeved jumper". Somebody else said "If I came out in spots I would cancel a meeting or a date", and those are terrific insights for a project like this.
Reporter says to Expert, Ian Marlow:What do people talk to you about?
Ian says:Simple things really, things like not smiling in photos because their teeth are stained. We wanted to develop a range of products that people could rely on – that would deal with problems such as stained teeth or bad breath.
Reporter says:One thing I have noticed, the products have very simple names.
Ian says:Yes, Boots has been around for over 150 years, so we don't need to attract people with gimmicky names. The range is meant to offer clear, practical, effective solutions, developed by experts, to tackle those annoying little problems that get you down.
